Where's The Time Gone?

It's December! No! Now it's July! It's February! It's August! It's October! It's 2009! No, it's 2011! Where's time gone? It feels like just yesterday I was entering fifth grade, and next month's my last. I'm going to middle school, and let me tell you it's not the greatest feeling. And it feels like I got my first glasses one day ago (really it was three years) and my eyes have gotten four times as bad since I first got them and I'm getting new ones. It's going to be sad saying goodbye to my old greenies. They're going to charity, and I can't imagine somebody wearing MY old glasses! It's also shocking to me that I'm saying goodbye to Buford at the end of this year, for middle school is happening at DaVinci Academy next year, and I'm so psyched...yet feeling so scared I'm gonna pee my pants. NOT KIDDING! And its been a full school fifth grade year and we've lost 3 people in our class: a mean girl named Ashley, a kid who scares others named Elijah, and somebody who I was sad for him to leave, the fifth grade's best artist Brandon. He's moving to Texas, and he started crying when he left. Poor Brandon. And another thing is, I'm turning eleven in three months. I just turned ten four days ago! Ok, maybe last year, but it feels like that! Can you people PLEASE tell me that I'm not hallucinating and that the time is really going by quickly. One minute, I'm sitting in my friend Katelyn's house watching the peach drop on New Year's Eve/Day, and the next I'm under the tree opening Christmas gifts. I'm supposing that's the year of 2011. The rest'll probably go just like this. Oh god, let's hope not...

Bad Things That've Happened To Me And Some Weird Odd Things

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why WHY?!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

Right now, I am like SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad. Lots of reasons, here, you know that, right?

1. This really stinks: I FINISHED THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS! Those were my favorite books in the WORLD! Why, why?!

2. I finished the Series of Unfortunate Events. Unlike my friend, I didn't cry when I read them.

3. I busted my face sledding today. Trust me, I'll get into that later.

But, thankfully, there are some good things.

1. Sometime in the near future, you'll share my laughter, but we got some funny videos while sledding. Including one I like to call MAJOR FUNNY WORLD OF SLEDDING WITH A CAMERA SHAKING AND SOME PEOPLE GO REALLY FAR AND ISABELLE KNOCKS OVER MOM! Yeah, long title.

2. Today, my friends called the BOWMAN family went sledding. Yeah, really normal...ha ha ha. Well, they went sledding with Leila and Grace on a sled being pulled by their dad. Well, being pulled by their dad on a LAWN MOWER ON THE BUFORD TRAIN TRACKS!

3. Yeah, at a loss here.

Bust-My-Face

I was sledding down the huge hill on my road, and I'm going backwards. A big ditch comes and I smash my face in the ice. My lip starts bleeding, and now I've got a swollen bottom lip, tons of cuts on my face and THANK GOD I'M NOT GOING TO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Just imagine...let's not, because my vision is really scary.

I Love MyElf

Okay, so you know that every year we get these two elves in my house named Dorie and Colleen, and they do crazy schemes every night if you sprinkle them with snowflakes and give them water and crackers. Well, the first year for crackers they liked Original Saltines. Then last year they liked Club crackers. Now this year they like...PRINGLES!?! Don't ask, they just do. So the first night, they were found in our dryer. That's when they arrived. Then, one night they were in the car, and then another night they poured flour all over the counter and made snow angels, and then today they gave us a movie A Christmas Carol and had watched it the night before, dragging our plush snowman into the act. They are some crazy elves...too bad they're NAUGHTY! hahahaha LOL

A few months ago, we got to tryout for something called Honors Chorus, which is what the best singers in the state go to. This year, it was an ALL GIRLS' PARTY!! There was...

at this thing. We sang songs by Andy Beck (who likes clapping and night songs...don't ask) and Nick Page (a guy who didn't write the songs but "arranged" them). As I said, Andy Beck likes clapping. That's why we sang his song: Clap Your Hands: Rejoice!. He also likes night songs, and that's why we sang O Moon! and the other group sang Fireflies. Katelyn even mentioned that the dude liked to clap and sing night songs. For Page, we sang some Handel song, Thanks Be To Thee and Scott Joplin's opera Treemonisha's song We're Going Around. For accompaniment we had a cello dude and an oboe woman. We got to eat for lunch the first day, Steak 'N Shake and for dinner we had Chili's. Yum. We may have gotten a BIT crazy...just saying...

Instrumental

Okay, so I just got into chorus about.....SEPTEMBER! It took me forever to actually think about posting on my blog. What's up with me? Have I forgotten about my blog? I'm sorry it took FOREVER, but now I'm getting back into the groove. So, I'm in the fifth grade which means in music, it's instrument year. I'm getting to do many instrument things:

1. I get to play recorders this year
2. I get to play the glockenspiel in one of our Christmas songs called Ain't That A Rockin'

I get to play the melody on my glockenspiel, and it's awesome sounding! On my recorder, it's just an activity for fifth graders that just teaches us to play the "flute-like thingy" like my friend says.

Life's Gotten Boring...What's There To Tell?

My life's gotten boring. Hasn't every body's? Nobody's got anything to tell. Getting bored? Go ahead, be bored. But listen to me. I may not be telling exciting things, but they're things so let's get on with it.


Lunch Talk 101

1) The Bucket of Joy
Apparently my mom threw up in a bucket on a ride when she was younger and the bucket was full of water. Some guy was coming up the ladder...AND THE BUCKET SPILLED ON HIM!

My parents were on a ride that goes back and forth. Some kid was getting green. "Ew!" thought Mom. The ride keeps rocking. The kid gets greener. Suddenly, HACK! The kid throws up. The throw up falls on people below!

Life's gotten boring...what's there to tell?

New York...OH MY GOSH!

My parents went away to Vegas together for the weekend while me and my sister Belle got to go to Grammy and Grandy camp! Otherwise known as the Double G's Magical Mystery Camp. We had no clue what we were doing until Thursday: WE GOT TO GO TO NEW YORK CITY! It was awesome! Our Marriott hotel was in Times Square and it was great! Read about it now!

We got to the airport and said goodbye to my mom, and we got on the plane. After the 2 hour plane ride, we got into a taxi and checked into the hotel. Afterwords we did a fun little Midnight Chocolate shopping! We went to the world famous Hershey's chocolate store and I got a Statue of Liberty bear holding Hershey Kisses (which I happily started eating) and we went to bed.

The next day we went to the American Museum of Natural History and saw the Hayden Planetarium show called Journey to the Stars. It was really interesting. We then saw Lizards and Snakes ALIVE! a little exhibit with lots of cool lizards and snakes! In the video we saw there was a flying lizard and snake. Weird!

After the museum we had a horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park! The horse was a nice horse named Smoky. He loved Isabelle, and kissed her at the end of the tour. We saw cool things like the statue of Balto the Dog Who Saved Nome. We also saw the Central Park Zoo and other cool things!

The next day we went and saw really old 1900's boats and weird street performers where one guy shoved himself into a teeny box. It hurt just looking at him! We ate Haagen Dazs ice cream and we went on a cruise ship and saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge, Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, Governor's Island, Roosevelt Island and tons more! It was so cool! We also saw Mary Poppins, on Broadway that night! It was the most amazing show I'd ever seen! At the end, Mary Poppins flew over the crowd on her umbrella! We also played a game of Putt-Putt Golf together. The score was:

Today we left. I am really sad. I didn't want to leave New York City, but it was really cool.

5th grade so far does not seem like a fun year this year for like a billion jillion reasons.

1. For the first time ever I got a MAN TEACHER!!!

3. I didn't get the teacher I WANTED!!!!!!!!!!
4. This year is going to stink worse than my dad's shoes after a 5k


everybody else I know got either Mrs. Davis or Mrs. Morgan. Why can't I be lucky and get to join my friends? It seems like my whole group of friends are having a party in Mrs. Davis's class because literally (LITERALLY!!) everybody I know is in that class. Me? I'm being by myself in a class with some man teacher when I wanted a woman. The saying about life being unfair?
It's true.

It's Almost Time To Party...

Pump up the party 'cause your favorite four kids are back for the 10th year ever! That's right! HKAI 2010 starts Monday, July 12th!!! Rated PG for way too much awesomeness.

Did you like how I made HKAI 2010 sound like it was a movie? If it was, it'd be the #1 Movie in America. We'd be all famous, me, Anna, Kevin, Shalina, my mom and Belle. R U Ready for the most awesome news ever? KEVIN AND ANNA COME IN ONLY 2 DAYS AND MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW!!!!!


My last day of being single digits for the rest of my life is here, today, right now. This is the last time I'll spend the time 1:24, as nine. Wow...I'm getting sad...

The Mayfield Dairy

Today, after my mom's Weight Watchers meeting (Mom's doing AWESOME in that) we met my Grammy and my great grandmother, Mozzie to eat lunch at Arby's (America's Roast Beef Yes 'Sir! Not many people know that. Now you do) and then drove down to the Mayfield Dairy in Braselton. We looked around and bit and my mom found a cow print mouse pad. She called it a 'cow patty'. Everyone found that hysterical! Isabelle found this fancy ring that had an "I" on it, and she got it and she's been wearing it all day. We then went into the theatre and we watched a video about Mayfield Diary. It was interesting...then we had to put on...(you might want to act surprised just for me for this next part).................HAIRNETS!!! AAAAAAH! It was WEIRD FEELING!!! yeah...anyway...our tour guide was some guy named Al who also had the men wear BEARD NETS! HAAAAAAAAAAAAHAA! Poor men. Mom said she should have gotten one for Dad. That would have been HYSTERICAL!!! But she didn't. In the movie, they said that they started their first Mayfield Dairy 100 YEARS AGO IN ATHENS, TENNESSEE!!! That was a long time ago! Anyway Al took us to this room in the back and showed us how they clean the milk. They use this machinery to take out the unwanted flavors and odors. It was pretty cool. We also got to see how they get the milk from farmers everywhere from as far as Indiana. They had many different trucks. There was one from Florida that had a really weird saying about how Florida Milk Always Tastes Best! I thought they had the best orange juice. We then went to see how they bottle the milk. Instead of using plain old clear bottles they use yellow bottles that way the sun rays don't damage the milk. Plus we also learned that the "expiration date" on the bottle is the SELL BY date. The milk will last 10 to 5 days AFTER the sell by date. Mom said Dad wouldn't believe her. He's the type that he says, "Oh, it's the expiration date. Let's throw it out." Mom said Dad would find that useful information. At the end of the tour we got ICE CREAM!!! I got a COOKIES AND CREAM DOUBLE SCOOP!!! Oh, and also a really cool ORANGE T-shirt saying 'Life Is Short...Eat Dessert First!' with Mayfield Dairy at the bottom. Plus, two stick figures, a stick dog and a stick man were standing on the shirt and the stick guy was eating ice cream from Mayfield and his dog was drinking Mayfield Milk from a bowl. Then we left. I had a fun day at the Mayfield Dairy.

Can you believe it? I'm almost 10 years old!!!! Sunday, July 11th is the day single digits will never meet me again on my birthday! Hurray! I soooooooo want an iPod Touch!!! That's my birthday gift I really hope I get!




UGH! Can Monday, July 12th get here any faster? My two best friends in the entire world, Kevin and Anna O'Flaherty are coming to my house for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!!!! They are SO fun to play with! We always play Wii, Wizards, we watch TV together, we do board games, we go to the lake, we draw pictures, we play on Nintendo DS's, and other fun cool stuff!




Friday, July 16th is the worst and best at the same time. Here's why:

WORST: Kevin and Anna leave and we don't get to see them until July 2011 at their house
BEST: We leave to go to Marco Island, Florida

At Marco Island, our Grandy's (grandfather as in my Mom's dad) parents live there. I love going to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. I also love going to their apartment's pool and the BEACH!!! I love the BEACH! It's so pretty! I like swimming out to the sandbar and finding cool seashells and building sandcastles and digging your hands so deep in the sand you can't feel them anymore!!!! I can't wait!!!

Sci-Fi PART TWO

Sorry I couldn't finish the post Sci-Fi yesterday, it was just so busy at camp. Okay, so I'm going to start with Monday, then Tuesday then Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday will be on another post, Sci-Fi PART THREE...


MARVELOUS MONDAY



On Monday, we did the owl pellets, like Sci-Fi PART ONE said, then we went to It's Electric! and we had balloon experiments. We had one experiment were two chairs held up a string with two balloons far away from each other. Me and MacKenzie were one group, so we took the wool cloth provided and rubbed it on the purple balloon. Then, because of the cloth rubbing the blue and purple balloons started to attract each other! Cool! Then, at another station you had a balloon and you poured water by the balloon into a bucket and the balloon would make the water bend! At another station, you took a balloon and you made Styrofoam packing peanuts float! Also you made paper circles float too.




TERRIFIC TUESDAY




First in our first class, Straight From The Owl's Mouth, remember how we were doing that owl pellet thing, and me, Maddie and MacKenzie sorted our bones and glued them on pieces of paper, then we identified which animal the bones belonged to and what part of the body it was. Then in our second class, we had a string of batteries taped together and we had a long wire with Christmas lights on it, and we connected the wire to both sides of the battery string and the lights glowed!



WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY



Today, we went to our first class, Meteorology Mayhem! and we made thermometers, anemometers, all the memometers on the Weather Channel. Then in Changes Happen, we made chemical and physical changes. We made a gooey object out of glue, food coloring and water with baking soda in it. It was really cool...then comes the story of Mr. and Mrs. Gooey and their sons, Goounior and Gooby...


MR. GOOEY AND HIS FAMILY

In Car Riders me and my friend Mia were playing with our goo. We named mine Mrs. Gooey (cause the green was lighter color) and hers Mr. Gooey (cause the green was darker) and they got married and had two children, their Goobamentary (Elementary) School son, Goounior and their Gooey State College son, Gooby. They lived happily in Goobtown, Goobington D.C. Mia thought they should be rich, so they were. They had a long line of products called Mr. Gooey; A Family Company like Mr. Gooey Body Moisturizing Pads, Mr. Gooey Pencils, Mr. Gooey Engagement Rings (Mia's idea). These fake Mr. Gooey commercials were on GOO Family (ABC Family) and Mia thought Mr. Gooey should have a TV show. So he did. The Weird and Magical Mr. Gooey was on GOO Family at 8/9c at nights so Goo children everywhere could watch it.

Sci-Fi PART ONE

Today was the start of my school's Camp H.I.P.E. It's called Camp H.I.P.E because our school mascot is a wolf and wolves howl which is the same thing, plus it stands for Hypothesize, Investigate, Predict, Experiment. See? H-I-P-E! I'll tell you all the things we did today...


First, we went to Mrs. Christian's room to go disect owl pellets. My group was me, my new friends Maddie Garrett and MacKenzie Staples. We found 2 skulls. Maddie thought that there were two animals in the pellet. I was the one that pulled the bones out of the pellet, Maddie cleaned them, and MacKenzie was the observer. I have to go eat lunch now, but more details on Camp H.I.P.E are coming soon!

Two Really Weird Things

On Friday, I went with my friend Katelyn to Lake Lanier Islands. At the Chattahoochee Rapids ride, me, Katelyn, Lucas, and Juliet (we'd met up with her at the wave pool.) were standing in front of these two boys. Every time somebody passed us on the waterslide they'd yell, "I love you!" or "Have a wonderful day, sir/ma'am!" And one little boy passed them, his booty was scratching the slide. "Ow, ow, ow, ow!" He was yelling. One of the boys said, "Hey, cute stuff, what's your name?" The boy could say nothing but "Ow." The boy said, "I love that name! Did your parents pick it out for you?" They started laughing. Then, an old guy passed by and the boy said, "Have a wonderful day, beautiful." TO A MAN! Katelyn, Juliet, Lucas and I found that hysterical.

At the Splashdown! ride, me, Katelyn, Lucas, Juliet, Gabby and Zayta (we'd met up with them at the Fun Dunker) were listening to the Justin Bieber (he stinks) song playing on the speakers, and Katelyn told us a funny story about our friend Zechariah:


A Justin Bieber song was playing at school one day (at a peprally) and Zech says, "Is this Hannah Montana?" Katelyn looked at him and said, "No, this is Justin Bieber." Zechariah looks confused, "Is this a girl? Can Justin be a girl's name?" Katelyn stared at him, "No, this is a boy." Zech stared at her. "Then he needs voice therapy."

Far Away From The Big One Oh-Oh

My goal this year is to have 100 posts for this year! So far, only 29 as of just writing this one...and if that's bad enough, in 2008 I only had 6 posts and in 2009, I only went up a few to 18! I was a beginner no doubt and this blog is three years old on November 15th! Yea my blog! You guys are the only reason it's cool cause you actually believe my blog is cool!
